Turkish people can use eggplants in a hundred separate dishes and surprisingly, they would all taste different. We use eggplants baked, grilled, sauteed, fried, with vegetable oil, with olive oil, etc. And we use them in salads, in dips, as a side dish, or as the main dish.

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when we say Turkish cuisine? Of course, rice stuffed grape leaves! It is a classic Mediterranean dish with a tangy flavor. Although this dish is a bit time-consuming, it is not so hard to make and definitely worth the time.
In Cook and Share November 2009, we learned how to make stuffed grape leaves. We even had a little competition for who is going to wrap the best ’sarma’ in less time. Some of our guests surprised us with their talents.

Turkish Flag
Turkish Language and Culture classes are offered for Turkish children in K-12 at the Turkish-American Cultural Center of Madison. It is a great opportunity for your children to practice speaking Turkish and improve their knowledge about Turkish culture. All classes are free and taught by volunteer members of Turkish-American Cultural Center.
