Turkish Language and Culture classes are offered for Turkish children in K-12 at the Turkish-American Cultural Center of Madison. It is a great opportunity for your children to practice speaking Turkish and improve their knowledge about Turkish culture. All classes are free and taught by volunteer members of Turkish-American Cultural Center.

Dear Ms. Ates,

Thank you for your interest in the activities of TACC-Madison including our Turkish classes. TACC-Madison have been organizing Turkish classes for K-8 kids between September and May since 2008. Our classes are held for 3 hours a week on Sunday mornings. On the other hand, Turkish classes are set up for kids who already have basic Turkish speaking skills. Therefore, these classes may not be ideal for students without any Turkish knowledge in their background. Having said that, we have had students attending our classes with no Turkish language background at all. For these students, being exposed to Turkish culture and language is definitely a plus, but the expectations have to be kept reasonable. In any event, we may offer Turkish classes solely for kids without any prior Turkish knowledge or for kids older than 8th grade in the future. In order to stay informed of such initiatives, we encourage you to join our emailing list where we announce our regular programs including Turkish classes as well as new programs to the members of the emailing list.
